State Manager Victoria - Occupational Hygiene Practice

Occupational Hygienist, you now have your MBA and want to use it? Lead and manage this international consultancy’s Victorian Office. Mentor and lead a team of six, supervise service delivery, manage existing clients, win new clients, manage the P&L, be a member of the national executive team.

This role suits someone who feels their career progression is being hampered or blocked and wants to grow their career in a vibrant professional small team environment.

The company is a Risk Management Consultancy, an international provider of specialist Occupational and Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, HAZMAT and Environmental Management services. Their clients are in the Government, Building, Manufacturing, Defence, Infrastructure and Construction sectors. This new role is a crucial element in the growth and development of the national business and results from a strong order book.

Based in the Melbourne CBD and reporting to the National Principal Occupational Hygienist and the National Operations manager (both Sydney-based), you will work closely with clients, peers, and other specialist consultants.
In the first 12 months, you will;

  • Establish strong relationships with all key clients.
  • Develop and implement a business plan to deliver 20% p.a. revenue and profit growth.
  • Establish and manage development plans for each of your reports.
  • With support from the national management team, win two significant clients for OH services.
  • Recruit at least one OH for your team.
  • Build your reputation with your clients as being a highly effective OH, seen as a trusted advisor.


You are a Certified Occupational Hygienist or Industrial Hygienist with an MBA or equivalent commercial qualifications. You have seven or more years of work experience in Occupational Hygiene. Mature, resilient, enthusiastic, conscientious, and persistent, you adapt to the needs of the role and are flexible with hours of work, prepared to travel and occasionally spend some time away from home.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be COH Certified Occupational Hygienist 

Bachelor degree in science or technology

Ideally a commercial or business degree to support technical qualifications

Good industrial experience

Five plus years post-grad experience

Education:
