Supply Chain Manager

Watertown, CT 

 

Immediate job opening for a Supply Chain Manager for a stable, successful custom manufacturer in the greater Watertown, CT area. 50+ year history, record sales the past few. In this role you’ll lead supply chain for a dynamic global manufacturing business. Here are a few things to note:

  • Niche manufacturer, profitable, custom electro-mechanical products for OEMs in very lucrative markets (medical instruments & testing, aerospace, robotics, food processing, specialty products)

  • $175M+/- fast-paced business (division is $1B). Products sold & produced globally (APAC, MX, USA, EU)

  • Diverse work and you’ll guide the entire supply chain lifecycle (purchasing, planning, inventory, forecasting, vendor management, etc)

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Own all aspects of Supply Chain; managing planning, procurement, inventory, engineering requirements, capital equipment etc.

  • Drive operational efficiencies by using quantitative and analytical approaches to determine, calculate and improve the supply chain process. Pro-actively analyzes operational metrics, making and driving process improvements within supply chain, and sourcing. Establish and coordinate production schedules in the factory environment to ensures smooth flow of materials from internal and external suppliers through manufacturing and shipping to meet promised ship dates to customers.

  • Establish and maintain department budget; driving efficiencies and cost savings

  • Develop supplier evaluation process congruent with organizational and corporate objectives.

  • Negotiate and administer agreements for combined requirements of commonly used materials to obtain maximum value. 

  • Increase commodity expertise and procurement effectiveness through strategy meetings, department skill/performance reviews and effectiveness evaluations.

  • Provide Visual Communication and Metrics with Planning/ Scheduling/ Purchasing Team.

  • Regularly review and recommend changes in Kanban inventory items.

  • Manage inventory to meet reduction objectives and insure on-going accuracy of records including Inventory Cycle Counting and physical inventory activities as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree required

  • 5-10+ years in Supply Chain in a manufacturing environment (ideally electromechanical in nature but not required). 

  • Must have management experience

  • MRP / ERP experience

  • Exposure to Lean environment a plus

  • Preferred Certifications: APICS, ASQ, Six Sigma Green Belt, etc.

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
