Job Summary


The System Administrator strategically manages the entire server infrastructure, which includes management of servers, storage, backup/restore, operating systems and server applications. The System Administrator will design, install and administer the infrastructure to support the current and future business needs.  The administrator will ensure that the systems are running at optimum performance and provide the capability and availability required to meet the business requirements. Further, the administrator will monitor and manage the integrity, security and reliability of the systems and information on it.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Administer the server and storage infrastructure based on business requirements and standards.
  • Manage Windows Active Directory environment including group policies
  • Measuring, monitoring and reporting on KPI and SLA
  • Administration of Virtual Infrastructure (XEN and VMWare)
  • Patch Management and Asset management
  • Installation of both physical and virtual servers from bare metal.
  • Setting up cluster server environment for critical systems
  • Manage backup and restore processes including processes for DRP
  • Proactively manage the performance and optimize servers
  • Secure the server environment with Patch Management
  • Installing server based application and managing the administration of the application health
  • Monitor and manage audit logs, error log and system logs
  • Server and server application life cycle management
  • Asset management of servers infrastructure devices and applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot HW, Operating System and Server applications issues
  • Manage security, integrity and availability of mission critical systems
  • Administration of Centralized Anti-Virus and vulnerability assessment on servers and application
  • Project lead in the design and review system requirements for new applications and services
  • Design and implement data center in accordance with the regulatory requirements
  • Introduce new process improvement ideas and technology to support and improve business
  • Administer Databases and Secure Online service portal
  • Plan and implement server upgrades, vendor patches and maintenance fixes
  • Participate in Logical Security and Regional support
  • Estabilishing standards on administration and ensuring the policies are maintained and reviewed





Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements


Work Experience:


  • Current MCSE or equivalent certification
  • Experience in project management and reporting on KPI and SLA to management
  • Minimum 5 years experience Windows server 2008 and above
  • Minimum 3 years experience in RedHat Linux
  • Minimum 3 years experience in using SAN (NetAPP preffered)
  • Experience installing, configuring and maintaining different server hardware and associated network devices, including SCSI, HBA and SETA technology/technique
  • Minimum 3 years experience in VMware and/or Citrix XEN systems
  • Experience in project management and deliver projects on time
  • Experience in common client applications such as MS Office, Lotus Notes, IE, PGP and SharePoint
  • Working hands on experience in Monitoring of Systems, Resources and Services
  • Working hands on experience in Windows WSUS and Linux patch management
  • Working hands on experience in setting up Windows cluster servers, different level of RAIDs


Skills and Competencies:


  • Conduct research on server hardware, software and protocols to improve efficiency, cost and security
  • Administering experience and knowledge of SQL 2005/2008, Oracle, SharePoint, IIS and Entrust servers
  • Good verbal and written communication skill in English
  • Proven interpersonal, analytical, presentation and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize with attention to details
  • Self-motivated team player with ability to interact in a collaborate manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in meeting tight deadlines
  • Taking ownership and ability to complete work with minimum supervision and within the team




  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field


Working Conditions


  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Limited travelling is required
  • Ability to provide level 2/3 support after-hours
