Great opportunity to join a global equipment manufacturer as a Technical Applications/Sales Engineer. As part of the sales team, you will be the internal customer facing Technical Applications/Sales Engineer assisting customers while providing support to the Applications Engineering group. You will work with customers from onset to completion assisting them with new customer orders ensuring requests are responded to quickly and in accordance with company guidelines.
--- Maintain the quote and proposal backlog to ensure all customer deadlines are met as well as weekly output goals.
--- Ability to work with customers to meet quote deadlines, follow-up promptly with customers, ability to supply prompt feedback for all quotes, active or "No Bid" quotes averaging a turnaround time for the month, as well as the rolling 3-month period.
--- Maintain and strengthen the business relationship with all established customers. Identify, chase, and book, significant base business quotes. Prepare inputs for, and participate in the formulation of the annual business plan including inputs for market changes for base business.
--- Expertise in consolidating status reports for open quotes and forecast the run rate business.
--- Support the sales team with the generation of commercial proposals and act as the proposal manager for integrating inputs from engineering, production, quality, and management. Coordinate with the rest of the sales team in the identification and execution of targets sales campaigns within existing accounts.
--- Take control of the quotes and proposals for all new business keeping everyone informed with new business updates.
--- Produce, review and approve pricing for quotes and proposals within company pricing guidelines to meet annual price and profitability targets. Prepare inputs for, and participate in the formulation of the annual business plan including inputs for bookings margins.
--- Expertise in tracking the pricing and margins to date and full year forecast with the Business Unit Director.
--- Support the Applications Engineering department to produce, engineering proposals for new part numbers and match RFQ specifications to existing part numbers when applicable.
--- Ability to keep everyone informed of open quote status for TBD part numbers.
--- BS Electrical Engineering degree with 5+ years of experience in product design / customer support for industrial manufactured products. Industries/ applications include aerospace, medical device, energy/ power components, military, and industrial equipment.
--- Experience in negotiating terms & conditions and pricing
--- Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment
--- Proven self-starter with the initiative and drive to follow through on projects and assignments with limited oversight and direction
--- Experienced with Excel, CRM, MRP systems/ software
--- Ability to work in the USA without sponsorship, now or in the future
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
