JOB DESCRIPTION:

·         The tooling engineer has the primary responsibility for specifying, designing, sourcing, and acquiring cutting tools, fixturing, and workholding for various processes. These processes include but are not limited to the following:  High-speed machining, post-machining secondary,

·         Design, procure, implement and maintain tooling, fixturing, and workholding to support the following:

o   Manufacturing / Operations

o   Capital Projects

o   New Product Development

·         Ensure tooling is complete and available for Operations in a timely manner

·         Be able to provide recommendations and insights on tooling for cost estimates and future projects

·         Ensure appropriate documentation is developed and maintained.

·         Provide support to the shop floor as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

·         Associates Required, Bachelors Preferred in an Engineering related field

·         2 to 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment involving high speed machining and automation

·         2 years’ experience designing workholding and fixturing, specifically for lathes and vertical mills is preferred

·         2 years’ experience specifying cutting tools, both standard items and custom is preferred

·         Demonstrated effective utilization of AutoCAD in manufacturing, strong general experience with AutoCAD required

·         Working knowledge of tool design and implementation

·         Working knowledge of CNC programming and machining technology

·         CNC programming and application experience preferred

·         Knowledge dealing with complex manufacturing situations, hardware specifications, quality standards, product development, CAD / CAM, and technical specifications

Education:
University - Associate's Degree/Graduate Diploma/2 Years
