An independent service provider that is part of a large global multi-national company and a leader in operations and maintenance in the power sector, including a large portfolio of servicing wind farms across Australia, is currently recruiting for Wind Turbine Blade Technicians to join their team in Victoria.
 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role
A permanent fulltime position for a Wind Turbine Blade Technician to form part of their service team in regional Victoria. Working 5 days per week, with occasional weekends, this role is suited to candidates with wind turbine blade repair experience, having demonstrated experience working on wind turbine blades in the past.
The position requires candidates to permanently relocate to one of the northern or southern regional cities in Victoria close to the wind farms. Relocation assistance is available for the appointed candidate. Servicing of wind farms during the summer months will be required throughout Australia on a FIFO basis. All travel related costs and allowances will be covered.
The role is also open to a Service Technician who has recently completed a course in Blade Repairs and is looking to specialise in this field or alternately Technicians from the marine or aerospace industry that have solid experience with working in composites together with at height experience. Training will be provided in transitioning to a Wind Turbine Blade Technician.
 

Responsibilities

• Blade inspections and structural, lightning and minor repairs on wind turbine blades
• Preventative and routine maintenance of blades using either rope access or elevated work platforms
• Application of leading edge protection systems
• Repair reports and traceability
• Supporting on-site teams with general servicing and repairs of wind turbines
• Completion of payroll timesheets, document control, data entry and maintenance of company systems
• Safe work promotion and practicing safety in all areas of work
• Daily scheduled and unscheduled servicing, calibrations and maintenance of wind turbines blades, responding and troubleshooting blades issues

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience in working with composites with preference for wind turbine blade experience
• Working at height experience
• Rope access license highly recommended
• GWO training (BST and/or Blade repair)
• Working at heights
• Heavy industry exposure is an advantage
