They have more than 125 PhD's on staff, 40+ collaborations with universities, research organizations and vendors. Assitionally they have 100+ on-going customer-funded research and technology programs.
The work will involve research and design of novel wireless networking mechanisms. Listed below are some key skills required for this project (as well as potential future ones in our pipeline). They include understanding and hands-on experience with:
(a) Layer 2 (L2) protocols such as: at least one of 802.11, 3G/LTE, IoT/Low Power Personal Area Networks
(b) Layer 3 (L3) protocols such as IPv4 (IPv6 a plus), routing protocols including link-state (OSPF, OLSR),
(c) Layer 4 (L4) protocols: TCP/UDP (with modern variants of TCP a plus),
(d) Operating systems: Linux, Android (Windows will be a plus),
(e) Software development experience with C, C++,Python (Java a plus), and familiarity with source control tools such as "git",
(f) Discrete event network simulation experience with at least one of: ns-2, ns-3, QualNet, OPNET
(g) Analytic tools with at least one of: R, Matlab, Python-based tools
The candidate will be responsible for participating in research projects and working with a team of research scientists to design, implement and test solutions for mixed wireless and wired networks. The candidate will also participate in preparing presentations and demonstrations for technical information exchanges with the end customer. With time, the candidate will take on leadership roles and provide assistance with writing research proposals in various areas of wireless and wired networking.
Requires 5 to 8 years with BS or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.
