In this function you will:
Participate in and drive quality improvement processes such as root cause problem solving and internal defect identification.
Partner with the Operational Excellence team to lead all lean and continuous improvement initiatives including Rapid Improvement Events (RIE), employee improvement idea program participation, value stream mapping, visual controls, error proofing and automation within department.
Cultivate an engaged workforce through employee involvement programs, coaching and frequent performance feedback, recognition, team and business communications, training and development.
This role typically supervises one or more production supervisors as well as assembly technicians.
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering/Technology from an accredited institution.
Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
Experience in developing and implementing advanced manufacturing processes and technologies such as automation, simulation, digital production control and tracking, virtual and/or video training programs, etc.
Previous role/experience managing others including other supervisors and/or large groups of employees.
Working knowledge of manufacturing procedures/practices including Industrial Engineering principles, production planning and Lean/Six Sigma.
Experience in ISO certified manufacturing assembly environment.
Proficient in driving Quality Control and Inventory Control.
Proven Leadership skills – capable of leading change initiatives and drive a high-performance culture.
Able to travel on occasion (less than 10%) to other sites for learning and adoption of best practices in manufacturing.
Looking for a very talented and passionate engineer with a strong focus on advanced manufacturing, automation, lean, six sigma, etc. as well as a desire to operate in a leadership/management role. This role is a manufacturing manager with a dotted line into Operational Excellence. This role would be a feeder role for a plant operations manager or OPEX manager and then division OPEX or Operations Director for the right individual. Metric Lean successes a plus
