JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Duties & Responsibilities include:


  • Develop a 'partnership' with area producer; building an effective business relationship

  • Implementing a sales strategy to market products and services

  • Reviewing the success of each customer and determining their needs and areas for improvement

  • Provide timely and accurate agronomic information/advice

  • Confidently perform and interpret soil, tissue, and water analysis

  • Provide/arrange customer learning opportunities as required

  • Regularly monitor competitor activities and trends; recommend marketing tactics

  • Maintain current accounts

  • Keep records of and prepare reports on sales progress/activities

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, our client has identified the following:

 

 


  • Successful completion of a post-secondary education in agriculture, agri-business, or equivalent; CCA or P. Ag accreditation an asset

  • At least five years' experience of progressive customer service work within a retail or agri-business role

  • A minimum of two years' experience in an agronomic sales role

  • Strong skills in time management, planning, multi-tasking, and record-keeping

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and people skills

  • Strong computer aptitude with intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Team player who can be productive working independently as well

  • Able to conduct yourself professionally; maintaining confidences

  • A valid class 5 driver's license (driving record abstract required)

  • Willingness to complete background checks (criminal and substance)

Education:
University - Associate's Degree/Graduate Diploma/2 Years
