JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to: Sailun Jinyu Group CEO

 

Responsibilities

Develop & provide to SJG business unit management teams relevant customer and consumer market intelligence and insights on size, segments, trends, competitive frameworks and SJG positioning and equities.

    • Resource globally capable research partners(s).
    • Align market study objectives with business unit general managers
    • Prioritize, develop, field and report insights from market segment measurement, usage & attitude studies.

 

Steward development of strategic role, positioning, brand identities and properties for SJG and its portfolio of customer “own label” and/or consumer directed brands.

    • Leverage insights from market studies to clarify brand roles & equities
    • Create brand “compass” & standards for lead brands and deploy

 

Contribute and co-develop strategic business plans for lead SJG business units.

 

Standardize, expand and deploy signature customer & consumer marketing communication/promotional programs globally to share best practices and build brand equities.

    • Develop & launch global web framework
    • Define jointly with business unit heads proprietary customer & brand development programs and “globalize” (event management, Point of Sales  activation)
    • Brand and promotion measurement.

 

Co-champion development of industry leading customer relationship management and business solutions programs for SJG’s lead business units.

    • Leverage market and brand insights to build compelling category management programs for key accounts.

 

Evaluate potential & develop strategic roadmap to launch capability.

    • Assess opportunity & potential business models
    • Develop corporate strategy

 

Develop marketing function shared service value proposition, strategic priorities and progressively build high performance organization to deliver strategic priorities and to service SJG global sales & marketing business units.

    • Develop “3 yr role model” centralized organization
    • Contribute to creation of global and regional business unit marketing organizations.

 

Co-create with Human Resources, global Sales & Marketing training academy and curriculum to build/improve and skills, expertise and talent of “demand side” functions including consumer & customer marketing.

 

Establish and manage principle external marketing agency relationships to support development & implementation of customer and consumer marketing platforms.

 

Key Success metrics

Experience and Qualifications

We seek a broad business experienced and highly skilled Marketing executive.  We seek a leader who has achieved success in a ‘tier 1’ multi-location, global corporation of some scale and ideally, in the manufacturing & distribution sector where research, development and innovation are key differentiators.  More specifically, an ideal candidate will bring the following qualifications to the role:

 

·        Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing comprehensive strategic marketing and communications, media relations, and marketing program to advance an organization’s mission and goals

·        Minimum 15 years’ experience in a senior management role either in-house or with an agency

·        A minimum of five years’ experience in developing and implementing social media strategies

·        Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field is required, advanced degree is preferred

·        Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with top tier customers, and in successfully positioning subject matter with the media to achieve national recognition

·        Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output

·        Experience in building, mentoring, and coaching a team of marketing and communications specialists

·        Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution

·        Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers

·        Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs

·        Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance, and administration initiatives

·        A minimum of five years’ experience in planning, writing, editing, and production of press releases, annual reports, marketing literature, and other print publications and directories

·        Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management of both SJG and the parent company SJ

·        Ability to operate as an effective tactical manager as well as a strategic thinker

·        Excellent and persuasive communicator

·        Experience in the tire industry is a plus

·        Fluency in English and Mandarin is desirable
