Position Title: Market Director (Europe, AMEA, or Asia Pacific)
Reports to: Global Sales Executive Director
As a result of the integration of three businesses (Sailun, Jinyu, and GOMA) into one unified organization (Sailun Jinyu), there is a need to fill several Market director roles. The Regional Market Director is the leader for the region’s Sales and Marketing organization and will be responsible for overseeing all facets of the business including leading the sales and marketing organization and support functions. This is a highly visible and senior leadership role which requires extensive tire industry experience, strong market insights and exceptional communication skills to interact with the top management team of Sailun Jinyu and external key customers. The role requires demonstrated experience with integrating and coordinating different parts of the organization and strong knowledge in management and administrations including negotiation, finance, strategy, operations, HR, and external relations. The role will have full accountability for Sales, Profit and Cash delivery for the region.
The Market Director sets and manages the vision and the strategic direction of Sailun Jinyu for the respective market. The role will have direct accountability to ensure customer satisfaction through a clear focus on high quality solution delivery.
Priorities during the first year will include building an efficient business process to support the new organization and in effectively merging and structuring the organization including marketing, logistics, Engineering, operational support and customer facing teams to ensure a solid “fit for purpose” organization is built to deliver on growth. The second key deliverable, once the above foundation is in place, will be to work with the market team to develop new business to drive significant growth.
The following details the specific responsibilities:
a. General management:
1. Own and lead the development, setting, tracking and delivery of region’s annual sales, profit and cash objectives.
2. Prepare and presents annual and quarterly forecasts, plans and variance analyses
3. Participates in the global strategic planning process, and develop and drive the 5 year strategic plan for the region.
4. Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities for the region.
5. Plan, evaluate and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance quality and efficiency.
6. Put in place the organizational structures and controls to ensure effective operation of the business.
7. Represents Sailun Jinyu in the local market external relations in industry and governmental affairs.
8. Build a high performance and capable organization.
9. Hire, manage and develop employees to meet the organization’s expectations for productivity, quality, growth and profit.
10. Consciously create a new workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization’s goals and that emphasizes the identified mission, guiding principles, and values of the organization.
b. Sales
1. Lead the sales activities to maximize sales and margin growth and the achievement of sales. Profit and cash targets.
2. Develop new products, services, and sales channels to further penetrate the market’s potential; and as necessary, establish new distribution channels and route to market.
3. Participates in the monthly S&OP forecast for the region, and ensure forecast is delivered
4. Recommend and champions significant marketing/sales strategies to ensure the sales team provides price leadership, optimizes market share and safeguards against margin erosion.
5. Build a visible, personal and enduring relationship with customers in local markets
6. Lead the selling strategy for key customer line reviews, trade shows, and industry events.
c) Marketing
1. Work with the global marketing team to develop regional specific customer marketing programs to drive sales
2. Drive customer and consumer understanding our brands and product portfolios
3. Work closely with channel marketing team to develop and execute key customer initiatives (including presentations, promotions, POP/Display, and packaging)
4. Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of the marketing campaigns.
Qualifications:
In addition to having successfully demonstrated strong operational and strategy business acumen, proven results in building a bigger and more profitable business, and exceptional management capabilities through a minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience, the ideal candidate for the Market Director role will need to showcase that he or she has strong leadership capabilities.
