Job Search

This option weights (prioritizes) the search results by a score that is calculated on the percentage of the job description that contains words that match your search terms. For example, compare a job (Job "A") containing 100 words in the description where the word 'accounting' appears 3 times to another job (Job "B") with 1000 words in the description where the word 'accounting' appears 5 times. Job "B" has the desired search term more often, but it occupies less of a percentage of the total job description, so Job "B" would score lower.

This option simply returns the most recent jobs first that match the keyword search and doesn't take into consideration the frequency within which the keywords occur in the job description. This is the default keyword search mode.

Whether you are searching for jobs or candidates the Find Records With feature is available to locate what you are looking for. The keyword search feature allows you to search for very specific job responsibilities or candidate experience by using keywords and/or phrases that you might find in a job order or in a candidate's profile. The keyword search feature will check the job order or candidate profile (including the RESUME/CV) for your keywords or phrases.

Here are some examples of how to use Find Records With when searching for jobs or candidates.

• All of These Words
  By entering keywords into the With All These Words, you are telling Search to consider only results that have all these words in the search results.
• This Exact Word or Phrase
  By entering search terms into the This Exact Word or Phrase, you are telling the search engine to consider the exact word or the exact phrase in that order without any change.
• Any of These Words
  By entering search terms into the Any Of These Words, you are telling the search engine to consider only records that have at least one in the search results.
• None of These Words
  By entering keywords into the None of These Words, you are telling Search to consider only results that do not include the word or words in the search results.

Whether you are searching for jobs or candidates the Job Title field is available to locate what you are looking for.

Here are some examples of how to use the Job Title field when searching for jobs or candidates.

• A single keyword can stand alone.
  For example, CPA
• Keyword phrases must be within double quotes.
  For example, "pressure vessel"
• Combinations of keywords and phrases must be within parenthesis.
  For example, plastics AND ("project manager" OR "project engineer")
• Boolean operators you use between words must be in all CAPS
  Tip: turn your caps lock on first, and type everything in all CAPS
• Wildcard searches - you can use the asterisk * in searches
  For example, pharma* will find pharmaceutical and pharmaceuticals and pharmacy and pharmacist and pharmacists.
