The Sales Manager will implement and execute the sales strategy and is responsible for building strong relationships with key accounts. As the sales and business development expert, understanding the pulse of the Military Personal Protection market is a primary focus. Expect 50-70% travel, working out of a home based office (preferably in DC, MD, PA, VA, DE).
--- Face to the customer to establish sales in line with the segment strategy
--- Deliver the targeted (sales) performance on the Business Segment Strategy
--- Further develop the Business Segment through planning (account plans/ customer segmentation and development), cooperation and delivering input (senior – leading) to the self-guided Business Segment Team from the sales discipline
--- Leveraging country activities cross segments in case of a country manager role
--- Customer Segmentation Management, Prioritization & Translation to acc. plans
--- Optimize between product & application and customers + level of support
--- Developing customers & businesses in line with the account management, country & segment plans
--- Responsible for sales planning & reporting for the respective accounts
--- Set up & develop account management plans based on country & segment plans
--- Support and help improve country & segment plans (Business Segment marketing)
--- Active support in development, positioning and ‘Go to market’ new products
--- BSc degree with 5-10 years experience in Sales/ Business Development in Engineered Fibers or Textiles related to markets segments including Law Enforcement, Government Agencies, Offshore, Aviation, Vehicle Protection, Personal Protection, Aqua Culture, Sports, High Performance Textiles
--- Proven understanding & ability to apply of sales/account management and negotiation techniques in business to business & industrial product market combinations including planning & forecasting, international sales, and segmentation.
--- Technical product knowledge to support the segmented customers
--- Preferred location - Washington DC area: VA, MD, DE, DC (but not required)
--- US citizen or permanent resident (green card) status is required.
Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
