The Global Director of Marketing will lead a cohesive, integrated, global team that collaborates across various business segments, channels and geographic markets. Based in Champaign, Illinois, the Director of Marketing Communications reports to the EVP of Product Management and Marketing and will lead a team to 7 direct reports and 18 indirect reports in the US and Europe. Our client is a consumer products company with a tremendous number of new products launched each year.  Candidates should have experience in a high SKU consumer products type of company.  

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of marketing plans that build on and broaden the awareness of our corporate brand and our products. Be a champion and driver for strong customer engagement, generating “voice of the customer” insights, developing and building long term relationships with our core customers and with potential new customers.  Drive social media engagement, advertising and public relations strategies to strengthen our core business and to increase our reach to new consumers. Manage and execute a social media strategy and content calendar focused on connecting our client and its brands to their targeted consumers through appropriate social networks.  Develop and launch marketing assets (e.g. packaging, manuals, print, digital) to support product launch and brand awareness campaigns.  Develop and execute a strategy that maximizes the impact of field marketing and event activities as an engagement strategy, lead generation tool, social media content input, and ‘voice of the customer” collection tool.  Lead and manage a group of nearly 300 ‘Team’ members who represent our client at local events to maximize the impact of customer engagement.    

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to relocate to Champaign, IL.
  • BS degree in Marketing or a related field.  MBA desirable.
  • Strong CPG experience with a loyal, passionate consumer base
  • Excellent understanding of consumer marketing and brand building
  • Strong experience in gathering information relating to new product definition with technical products
  • Highly experienced with field marketing, digital marketing and social media
  • Analytic experience in gathering and processing data into actionable feedback  

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
