Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an Established Animal Nutrition Company is their search for a Swine Nutrition / Feed Consultant. This individual will be responsible for evaluating animal nutrition needs and recommending customized nutritional programs for beef, dairy, swine, or other livestock producers, and developing Montana regional office presence for a North American animal nutrition consulting business. Specific duties include:
- Building relationships with current and prospective customers in the Montana region through production meetings, newsletters, alternative feed ingredient recommendations, barn walks, and loyalty programs
- Providing new consulting services using sales and technical skills, production experience, formulation platforms, veterinary support, and solutions on commodity pricing correlated to profit margins
- Developing regional marketing strategy through risk analysis and profit forecasting, and liaison with company’s sales, nutrition, and marketing departments
- Planning and implementing retail farm supply outlet for veterinary products
- Overseeing warehouse to monitor inventory, account management, cost control, and product rotation
- Developing business relationships with producers, including through market research, production cost factors, base feed ingredient product availability, pricing intelligence, and new product information
- Post-secondary diploma in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, or related
- 2 years of experience as livestock production coordinator or related
- Specific experience in livestock production system
- Experience with feed sales, and technical support
- Background in finance and accounting
- Ability to travel in Montana required
