Data Governance Manager (Banking) 

This opportunity will be fully responsible for governing, developing policy and procedures for the client bank in Data Governance. It requires a highly skilled and motivated subject matter expert who can efficiently maintain and assist with the execution working with Data and Model owners and users as well executives in ensuring the Bank's compliance with vital regulatory requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Critical Responsibilities

1. Guarantee data access adheres to Bank standards, policies, and procedures 
2. Document and highlight any possible risk concerns and escalate to management as necessary
3. Report on Data Governance events
4. Develop, establish, and supervise a data governance framework to empower efficiencies and standardization throughout the Bank
5. Work with data owners to define current state and imminent state of data management 
6. Recognize gaps and shortfalls in current data governance and design remedies
7. Preserve knowledge and understanding of internal processes, procedures, and IT control policies
8. Instruct data owners on data governance principles and best practices
    

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements

1. Bachelor Degree.
2. Minimum four years’ experience in a governance, audit or compliance role in a financial institution.
3. Familiarity with Data and Model Owners and users across the bank (strategic and operational).
4. Strong verbal/written communication, organization s and critical thinking skills.
5. Relationship skills and ability to shape trust and hold others accountable.
6. Knowledgeable of Model Development Lifecycle and control.
7. Data Expertise in data management or data governance.
8. Experience developing and distributing training explicit to data and model areas of expertise.

Education:
University - Bachelor's Degree/3-4 Year Degree
