Our client, a Saskatchewan-based exporter, is in search for a General Sales Manager to lead, manage, develop, guide, and mentor a sales team and distributors to actively expand product line market share in both Canada and the US. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

What would you be doing?

With over five (5) years experience managing a sales group, you will be responsible for dealer development and managing key accounts within a results-driven organization, dealing at the end-user, retail and wholesale level. Ideally, you will possess experience in USA and Canadian trade and travel. You will excel at sales department management in an environment where period-end deadlines are typical. As part of the Senior Management Team, you will oversee each sales unit and assist in targeting and securing new business as well as continually growing each existing account. Through an understanding of the export business and rising daily costs associated with manufacturing, you will be prepared and eager to deal with everything that arises. 

Key business plans will drive your success, allowing you to create strategy and implement the actions needed to see results for each product line!

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this opportunity, you require: 

  • A minimum of ten (10) years proven business development/sales experience in an applicable industry - business-to-business (B2B) focus.
  • Experience or understanding of metal fabrication manufacturing assembly.
  • Technical competence and knowledge of agricultural and industrial equipment industry processes
  • A leadership approach that is hands-on, turn-around, and efficient with energy and vision.
  • Supervisory management experience in a sales department.
  • Ability to regularly travel uninhibited throughout North America.
  • Excellent negotiation, conflict management, interpersonal communication and listening skills
  • Strong presentation and proposal development skills
  • Ability to manage time and to balance competing priorities
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time, on average, based on sales programs, trade show activity, and personnel needs
