Position Title: Director – S&OP
Reports to: Global Sales Executive Director
The S&OP is a critical business process that synchronize the global markets, supply chain, innovation and creates business alignment on key business decisions with the executive committee (EXCO) of Sailun Jinyu.
The Director, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) is a newly created, highly visible and senior role responsible for defining and implementing a global best-practice S&OP process. This position will continue to build upon the work that has started and become the accountable leader who will lead the dialog between cross-functional teams and with executive leaders, manage all aspects of the S&OP process, directs and controls Demand Planning and Supply Planning for all global markets, and prepares monthly management reviews of the critical business issues that will need to be addressed by the executive team (EXCO). In addition, the role will ensure that each market has developed the required capability in people, process, systems and measures to support robust S&OP (Sales and Operation Planning).
The role requires deep knowledge of supply chain, demand forecasting, demonstrated experience with integrating and coordinating different parts of the organization and strong knowledge in management and administrations including negotiation, finance, strategy, operations, and sales.
The role will be based in Qingdao, China with frequent international travels to Canada. The ideal candidate must be able to work with different time zones. Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English is essential.
Key Responsibilities include:
1) Own the end-to-end S&OP process and act as the thought leader who will implement and lead a sustainable and global best-practice process that includes all key functions.
2) Lead and facilitate all S&OP meetings both with cross-functional teams and with the most senior level of executives to drive decision making and align on the monthly, quarterly and long term consensus forecast. Participate with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decisions on operational matters that ensure supply continuity and drive forecast consensus.
3) Build and maintain all materials required for the S&OP process including presentation materials, data driven reports, marketing and field related inputs, and demand and supply plans. Manage monthly deliverables across functions to ensure the timely communication of information in support of the S&OP process.
4) Facilitate the review of S&OP plans vs financial plans and reconciling changes and/or gaps between new priorities, demand, supply and financial targets.
5) Evaluate the impact of key changes, risks and opportunities and develop scenarios considering trade offs that drive overall business performance
6) Work with cross functional collaboration and alignment on key business recommendations and decisions throughout the S&OP process
7) Document ongoing S&OP assumptions, new or changing assumptions, decisions made, decisions required and action items throughout each cycle
8) Model, interpret, and report key end-to-end analytics and metrics to drive alignment, accountability and continuous improvement across all areas of the business
9) Promote ongoing continuous improvement and evolution of the S&OP process
10) Manage the launch, training, and utilization of new S&OP software
11) Oversee global supply planning and manage supply chain resources and staff for global growth.
12) Support ad-hoc analytical inquiries, review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results for consumption by cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
· 5-10 years’ experience in Forecasting, scheduling, inventory planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Production Planning, Sales planning and in managing multiple product lines within global organizations.
· Must be an excellent cross-functional collaborator and a thought leader in S&OP, analytics, business process and continuous improvement.
· Must possess the confidence and business acumen required to lead cross-functional working sessions and presentations to senior leaders.
· Self-directed and possess a sense of urgency
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Self-motivated and able to drive results quickly.
· Project and/or product management experience in leadership roles. Transparent in approach with a strong process-centric background.
· Expert ability to quickly assess situations, identify root causes of issues, generate multiple ideas and solutions, and make sound decisions.
· Excellent communication skills in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English and proven ability to build strong relationship to influence cross functional teams
· High proficiency in forecasting tools, regression analysis, advanced supply chain techniques, Excel, and Powerpoint
· Experience with ERP and SAP software, business intelligence tools & business analytics software
· Advanced organizational and leadership skill to lead multi-divisional activities, analyze large volumes of information, evaluate and resolve complex issues in rapidly changing environment.
· This role has substantial amount of executive leadership interaction and must be able to build, promote and defend a strategic and tactical recommendations.
